Gallery

This gallery summarises some of my best work that I directed, filmed and edited myself. Some of the shots that I'm most happy with have been presented below for much easier access and viewing purposes, please feel free to watch the full projects below.

The First Step

this was one of my first pieces and I felt it would be fitting to have something relating to my own personal experiences, however I did exaggerate it a bit by making visual references and physical representations of mental health issues.

This was probably one of my most favourite projects as I finally got to work with professional equipment and had the chance to experience what organising a crew is like giving me better knowledge for future projects.

The First Step

The Hotel

This project was more of a spur of the moment, the visuals were less of a focus and was found to  be more audio based. I had been hospitalized for a week and this completely ruined my original plans so I had to improvise, while in hospital I wrote up a brief storyboard and script that would be relatable to the environment I expected (which was a hotel at the time as I was going to Comic Con).

War Horse

War Horse intro sequence was my first ever animation unit and my first real hands on experience with After Effects. I must say it was probably the most stressful project I have ever covered as I had this idea in my head of what I wanted to do but I couldn't do it due to my lack of knowledge and experience but I eventually self taught myself along with help from tutors, I was able to make this piece.

Keaton Henson - You

From already covering music videos throughout my GCSE course for media, I felt a lot more confident with this unit however I was worried my old bad taste of techniques for making a music video were still with me from GCSE, luckily enough they weren't and I focused on pulling this piece together which I would say was one of my better laid out/organised pieces.

Andrex Commercial

This was quite difficult, again because it's animation, but also because it was going into the commercial areas of the industry, all elements within this were drawn up by hand, implemented and edited by myself. I think commercial media is an industry I would like to get in as there's always something new to utilise for changing results in sales/turnover etc.

MODE Commercial

Taking inspiration from the H&M adverts and also River Island, I aimed to make this stand out and stay with the audience, the specific repetitive beat within the song enhances this.

I done multiple surveys to get solid results in what people were looking for in a clothing advert, along with doing a lot of demographic research into the audience I would be targeting.

The Fabric Shop - Documentary

This was more of a personal project of mine if anything, I really wanted to capture the emotion that this subject carries in my family and relatable others that have experienced the same.

A lot of test footage was the key to making this work along with integrating colour grading during post production, this gave me a much better understanding of what holds continuity together.

James Blake - Retrograde

This was my final project for college, I tried to portray motion with music, jolting body movements to the beat. overall this helped me train my use of proxy rendering, LUTs, cinematography and also my story telling.

Intro - VG & Gfinity

This was a graphically demanding task, Varsity Games were in contact with Gfinity and this lead to me handling both sides of work. I created alot of transition pieces, data table pieces and also their introduction which you can see here. I was the head of design for the project and handled one third of the event's needed design.
